Lex Brodie's History
In 1958 Lex Brodie moved from managing the Dole Pineapple Cannery to owning a Chevron gas station in Kaneohe. Lex became known for his legendary customer service. With this tradition in mind, he opened Lex Brodie's Tire Company on Queen Street in 1964. As his store grew in popularity, Lex expanded to Waipahu where he opened his second location in 1972.
In 1981 the Wall Street Journal featured Lex Brodie's in their Small Business section, citing Lex's outstanding customer service as the number one reason Lex had captured a large share of the gas and tire market in Hawaii.
In 1994, Lex Brodie's received the Holo I Mua Award from the Better Business Bureau, which recognizes outstanding local businesses. By 1998, a Bank of Hawaii survey reported Lex Brodie's Tire as having the best service in Hawaii.
2002-PRESENT, Lex Brodie's has also received annual praise from AAA, known for having the toughest standards in the industry, for customer service. In the past two years Lex Brodie's has averaged a 99% satisfaction rate!
2002-PRESENT, Lex Brodie’s has won The Star-Bulletin & Midweek’s "Hawaii’s Best Of" Award six years in a row for having Hawaii's best tires and tire service.
