I only gave one star because there is no option for 0 stars.I should have learned my lesson a long time ago to not go to this company for automobile servicing. About a year ago I was nearly charged for services I did not agree to pay for. Luckily, the manager stepped in and knocked the price down to the original quote. He was super apologetic, likely because he knew that I knew what happened was illegal.I only went back to this shop because I have a warranty for some services, and it is convenient geographically. They basically told me that it would cost thousands of dollars to fix my car, even though I suggested a different approach to fixing it. I went home and talked to mechanic friends, and then went to a different repair shop this morning, knowing that a different workaround should take place, one that was affordable. The other auto-shop was able to fix my car for a couple hundred dollars. When I asked my mechanic friend why Lex Brodie's was trying to charge me for so many services and parts, he said this: "They are doing what gives us good mechanics a bad name; they are trying to rip you off." Please know this- I might be a young female who looks like she knows nothing about cars (I actually know a little bit- thank you Google search!!), but I do have a father, a husband, and plenty of friends who are a phone call away, thank goodness or I would have been in serious debt.I'm not saying people should not go to this business- but just do your homework, get more than one estimate, and question the price of parts this company quotes. Good luck, Yelpers!
Aloha, we would like / hope to get more info to address your concerns. Our Customer Bill of Rights states we will "Never recommend a service that is not needed...". We are very clear to our team that this can never happen and is a standard that we "live" by. If employee error results in an incorrect recommendation, we give a gift card (up to the full value of the estimate) to our customer for the error. There are cases where one shop will recommend a more "by the book" repair and another may perform a "quick fix" with a "we hope it does the trick" attitude. We tend to only perform repairs that we feel will function properly for the long run, without concern that it may not hold. Sometimes the "quick fix" will hold, but normally that isn't the case for very long. We received the International BBB Torch Award for Excellence in Customer Care (awarded to us in DC) which we received for our dedication to fair, ethical and honest customer service. We are the only company in the world to receive this award from the International BBB! We are dedicated to having happy and satisfied (even wowed) customers. We would like to look into this matter more for you. Do you have the estimate you were given? That way we can compare it to the repairs that were performed. I can be contacted at [email protected] "Thank You... Very Much!" for your time, patience and understanding. Sincerely, Scott D Williams President
