Let me start by saying, I know about cars, grew up with a grandpa, dad, and uncle, all mechanics in the air force. Heard Lex Brodies was a standard company to go with that claimed no rip offs... I now know thats not true, here is why:I needed my interior door panel popped off and window regulator (thing that makes window go up and down) replaced, I called this place to see how much they would do it for just to see if they would be honest, if they were, i was gonna have the harder stuff done by them... but they werent, I asked how long should it take, they said, "it takes a really long time to take that door off then to fix the issue takes more. could take 3 hours maybe more..." For anyone out there who doesnt know, THIS IS A STRAIGHT RIP OFF, I was very disappointed to see this company so established trying to rip me off.... Ive done this simple repair tons of time on old cars, and me, not even a pro mechanic, can do it in 30 minutes, start to finish.... Popping a door panel off takes about 5 minutes, they said 2 hours!!!!! and this was Mike, and apparently this guy runs the place in Honolulu?!?! thats too bad. Trust me I wouldnt go here. Man, im really disapointed, I havent found an honest mechanic in Oahu yet, and doing my own car work sucks...
"Thank You... Very Much" for your feedback. I hope you don't mind, but I would like to get some more information. We use all feedback, good and constructive, to help us improve day to day. Did Mike quote a price to replace the regulator, or was he just quoting a time estimate to get the car into the shop, remove the door panel, then confirm what was needed and then provide an estimate? I/We don't see an estimate in the system so it appears an estimate was not given. If this is the case, it doesn't appear anything was quoted other than an amount of time to give us to research the problem. We gladly work on these types of services and repairs for customers, but they are not set up for speed lanes like tires, alignments and oil changes. When we make appointments for repairs and diagnostic, we normally allow for sufficient time to juggle the work load for all our customers. We have an Estimate Promise where we will give our customers a gift card up to the full amount (depending on the situation) for an incorrect estimate that was put in writing (or for a repair charge that was incorrect or improper). We also have a Completion Time Promise that refunds $2 per 5 minutes we miss a promised time (up to a $35 max, at this point we put our customers in an Enterprise rental car at no charge). Our team does not get compensated based on amount of work performed or quotas, so there is no incentive to oversell. We have a zero tolerance for overselling or any type of activity that is not in the best interest of our customers. Please provide me with any additional info that can help us learn and grow from this incident at [email protected] Also, we would still like to take a look at your window regulator for you at no charge up to the point that we will take the door panel off and invest half of the diagnostic time verifying that the regulator has failed (additional concerns could be an electrical problem which is getting more common these days). Thank You.. Very Much for your time and we hope we have a chance to serve you again. Sincerely, Scott D Williams President
