My experience at Lex Boradies was by far the best customer service I have ever received in an auto repair shop. The staff is very friendly especially the sweet aunty in the front she had a long long line and was kind and courteous to all. I spoke to Rylan on the phone the day before and he helped me make sure that the tires I needed were brought for a different sister store. They were also able to price match Sams club. With in 24 hours of me making my inquiry about tires and alignment I was driving with my new tires. I had previously gone to a competitor shop (Firestone) in my neighborhood they didnt call me back until two days later. Too late Lex Brodies already took care of me. While I was in the waiting area nice lady told me she drives all the way from nanakuli to get her car serviced. Keep it up guys! With your attention to detail and aloha with your customers you have created loyalty from your customer. Thats hard to beat! Mahalo Lex Brodies!

This review is based on my 3 visits in 2024. I have been a regular customer of Lex Brodie's for 10 years and before this year have been pleased with the service. I bought a set of tires there and have had safety inspections, oil changes, and other work done there. I had Lex's change rear brake pads in Feb 2024. The brakes immediately started squeaking and it did not go away as they wore in. I brought the car back in Dec along with printed instructions to troubleshoot the squeaking. When I returned 9 hours later (07:00 to 16:00) they had not started working on my car. When I received the service report it said only that they had checked the brake pad remaining thicknesses. The squeaking remained. They did not do the other work I requested. This visit was a complete failure. So I decided to investigate the squeak myself. I discovered that the wheel nuts and brake caliper bolts were grievously over-tightened. The specification for the caliper bolts is around 20 lb-ft but they were well above 100 and had to have been done with an impact wrench. Any competent mechanic knows you should not use an impact wrench where there are torque specs. And if you do use an impact gun, why worry about torquing evenly? I decided that the new rotors they installed had been warped by uneven torquing. When I replaced them along with other brake hardware Brodie’s had neglected to change the squeak went away. Go to Lex Brodie’s at you own peril. Lex is gone now but I am sure he would be horrified by what has become of the business he founded and still bears his name.

Go to Lex Brodie's at your own peril! I have taken my vehicles to Lex's in Honolulu for 10 years but never again. After I went in for a rear brake job in Feb 2024 the brakes squeaked once per revolution. I complained about it during my next visit in early 2025 by they did nothing so I decided to do it myself. I discovered that the wheel nuts and caliper bolts were grievously over-tightened, which might have warped the new rotors they installed. The caliper bolt spec is around 20 lb-ft but they were more than 100. And if you are going to use an impact wrench why bother to torque evenly? I just installed new rotors and the squeak seems to be gone. Lex Brodie is gone but I am sure he would be horrified by what has become of the business he started.
