Brought my car in for an oil change and brake pad replacement. After being called back with an estimate of what was needed I was quoted over $1400. Claiming I needed rear brake pads & rotors, front brake pads & rotors, and a new battery, oh and a list of lifetime warranties on labor or whatever. First of all there was NOTHING wrong with my rear brakes or rotors. How they can charge $360 for a pair of brake pads is absurd when I can purchase pads at O'Reilly auto parts for less than $50. Definitely felt like I was being taken advantage of because I am a female, well I'm not a stupid female. When I called back to refuse the brake service (they were already doing the oil change for $84) they said they would put a hold on that. Next thing I know I get another call 30 minutes later from someone else saying they're almost done with the work which I try to confirm it was just the oil change because i didn't want to pay for the ridiculous brake service up charges, she acted like it had already been started then argued with me when I said I didn't want the brake service, said she could "work with me on the price". I insisted that no I only wanted the oil change (again a rip off because I should've gone to Midas and only been charged $45, lesson learned). So after all of this I contacted a local mechanic who quoted me $160 to install my purchased brake pads from O'reilly's, went to him and even he said I did not need brake pads or rotors, and my front rotors weren't even bad and could hold off on replacing those a while longer. I will NEVER go to Lex Brodie's again, completely overpriced.
