Staff was nice, but never been to a tire shop that was unwilling to dismount a set of tires ("used") and mount them on another set of wheels... citing their store policy. Do you guys not fix peoples' flat tires? Just make em buy a new one?
Aloha Mr. Fauci, Thank You... Very Much! for your feedback. May we ask a couple questions? (So we can look into for you). Were the tires you wanted to dismount and reinstalled, on the vehicle you drove in on? Or on wheels in the back of the vehicle? We started this policy since the true condition of 'used' tires is unknown when the tires are brought in off the vehicle. (Which is the case in most instances where we are asked to mount used tires). We have had incidents where used / older tires have failed once they were reinstalled and being aired up. We would also need to review what the last four numbers of your tire DOT numbers were, to see if the tires are aged where the rubber has started to become brittle. We totally understand your thought process for flat repairs, for flat repairs; we also look at the age of the tires, as well as for damage from being run flat or from the object in the tire. But, since that tire had been on the vehicle, up to the point of the flat, we have good information that the tire was likely sound up to that point. Please share any additional feedback to [email protected] . We always are eager to learn from our customer's feedback and use to review our policies and procedures (when applicable). Thank You... Very Much! for your time and patience. Sincerely, Scott D Williams Executive Director & 29 year Lex Brodie's Team Member
