Waipahu, HI
I grew up in Waipahu from the 70's to the late 80's. I remember the old Lex Brodie's commercials, but for some reason never found my way to this auto shop, and it wasn't for any particular reason, just always ended up going else where for my auto repair needs. Today I brought my car in to replace all 4 tires and to get a wheel alignment. The price on the tires, and the alignment was very comparable to what I would have paid had I purchased my tires from one of the warehouse stores and paid for an alignment elsewhere so I was very happy with the price. The service from start to finish was excellent. I also asked them to check my battery as I noticed this past week when starting my car it sounded a little weird as if the battery was about to die. It has also been about 4 years since I replaced my battery so I figured since I was there might as well get the battery checked. The technician informed me that my battery is near it's end life and will need to be replaced soon, but he also informed me that in the process of replacing the battery the starter failed. I was a little apprehensive about this, since I just replaced the starter 4 years ago. I called the mechanic who replaced the starter 4 years ago and he told me that this is very likely since the starter was a rebuilt starter. I went ahead and approved the service, and also called Scott Williams the VP of Marketing just expressing my concerns with the recommended repair. I came in for 4 tires and possibly a battery and didn't expect to replace my starter also. He reassured me that the diagnosis was accurate, and since my mechanic prior also confirmed the diagnosis I felt better. What I didn't expect was that Scott asked the shop to waive the charges on the labor cost for replacing the starter. I never asked for this, but for him to do this really helped put me at ease. I want to thank everyone at Lex Brodie's Waipahu, and in the future I will definitely utilize the services at Lex Brodie's Waipahu to service my vehichles.
