Previous experiences with Lex Brodie have been very good, so perhaps today was an anomaly, however, I am concerned that their previous level of customer service is not continuing. I had an 8:30 a.m. appointment to install two new tires and to check the alignment. I was told it should take approximately 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours to complete. The check-in worker Tiana was very professional and efficient. After waiting 4 hours with no word I called to inquire about the status. I was told that it would be about 2 hours longer until finished! No one contacted me to let me know that there was a delay and no apology was offered. I was finally informed via text and a voice mail message that the car was ready at 2:15, 5 hours and 45 minutes after dropping off the car (more than 4 hours more than estimated). I went to pick up the car and although the worker was pleasant, she did not say anything about the delay, made no acknowledgement or apology. I commented about the delay and asked what happened and she informed me that they were short-handed. My car did not require any unforeseen work to account for the delay. Still, no apology or acknowledgement that this delay and lack of communication was unacceptable. I suggested that in the future they inform customers if their time estimates are not anywhere in the ballpark so that customers can make arrangements or figure out how to better utilize the time. Finally, she apologized and indicated everyone's work had been delayed that day. It would have meant a lot if someone had just been honest, upfront and informed me that I actually had 3 hours and 45 more minutes so that I could have done something useful with my time. The actual product, the new tires, are excellent and I am pleased with them and they appear to be installed correctly. However, the poor communication and outrageously long wait is very troubling and not what I expect from Lex Brodies.
