I originally scheduled 2 appointments via their website for two vehicles to have tires replaced. What I was quoted for each vehicle is not what I ended up being charged for. For each vehicle I was charged for an alignment, which I did not know was going to be done on either vehicle. When I completed the quotes online there was nothing about an alignment on there. I understand of course that technicians/mechanics will find things that need work on a vehicle and if additional work is recommended that was not on the original quote that technician/shop would contact me to inform me that additional work was needed. I did not receive a phone call for either vehicle that an alignment was needed or that I was going to be charged an additional $115.99 for each vehicle. When I went to pick up my son's car and pay the bill I noticed it was more than my original quote and asked why it was different. That is when I was informed about an alignment to which I said "oh is that something I need to schedule?" The technician then replied he had already completed it to which I was very surprised because like I said I never received a phone call about an alignment being needed for the vehicle. I paid the bill and left my keys for my other vehicle to have 4 new tires installed. A very kind woman working in the office helped me check in. I told her I would be back around the time that they closed for the day, which was 6pm. When I returned to pick up my vehicle I asked the female employee if the shop usually calls people before they do additional work than what was originally quoted and she said "Yes, did the technician call you?" To which I replied "no he did not." She explained I should ask the technician about it . My vehicle was done around 6:30pm and the technician who worked on my car gave me my invoice to which I see yet again a charge for an alignment. I'm dumfounded yet again that nobody called me to say it needed to be done and did the work regardless. By the time I paid the invoice I could see the technician had a very long day as did I and I just wanted to go home. The work was already done so I paid for it and chose to contact the manager via email in the hopes this does not happen to any future customers. In all the years I have owned a vehicle I have never had a shop do additional work than my original quote without calling me first. If my vehicle needs it I hope the technician is being honest with me but ultimately it is my decision to say yes please do the additional work or no please do not do the work. Whether it's as simple as an additional $5 or $116 common practice is contacting the customer first. I'm disappointed with the lack of communication and while the technician and all of the staff was friendly I should have received a phone call prior to an additional work being done. The other thing I was disappointed in was the tire pressure on one of my tires. According to my vehicle tires should be at a psi of approximately 35. When I went to drive out of the parking lot I saw the psi on 3 of my tires was approximately 35, except for one tire. My driver's side front tire measured a psi of 58 when the max psi for the tires I just purchased is 50. I keep a tire pressure gauge in my glovebox and the next day I measured each tire to see if my sensor was wrong but sure enough it was not and my front drivers side tire measured 58 psi. I release enough air out of the tire to reach 35 psi. That was definitely something the technician should have noticed and checked before telling me the car was done. Luckily my vehicle tells me specifically what the psi is in each of my tires is or I would not have known the tire pressure was so high on that one tire. I understand your shop was incredibly busy that day but these 3 things should not have happened. I won't be returning to shop because of the experience I had and the lack of trust I now have in what I am going to get there. It's unfortunate and I really was hoping to have an incredible experience because of things I have heard about Lex Brodie's but in the future I will seek any work on my vehicles elsewhere. I absolutely LOVE to support local businesses and rave about where to go for different services but your business is not one I will be recommending. I understand people make mistakes and I don't know if this was an off day for the technician or if this is common practice. After messaging the manager and the corporate team I never received a reply, which is also unfortunate. I hope you do better in the future. Buyer beware.
