Honolulu, HI
We had our car there on Monday, August 5 to fix a problem they quoted from the day before (8/4), which was the front struts. The car was previously making a clunking noise from the right side when going over a bump and they said this was due to the struts. So we decided to move forward and fix it since it is obviously a serious situation. They quoted us a little over $1000 to have it fixed. They said the car would be ready the same day, which is was not but said it would be ready Tuesday morning (8/6). I called lex Brodie's in the morning to see what time I would be able to pick up the car and they said that they might have to put me in a rent a car because they were still working on the car. An hour later they called me and said it was ready to be picked up. I picked up the car that afternoon and the next day there was a clunking noise coming from the opposite side now even though they fixed both front struts, so that definitely should not be happening. I called the manager Friday afternoon to express my problems and he told me to bring it in as soon as I can. So, I dropped the car off Monday morning (8/12) and told them the problem was now coming from the left side now. Later on that afternoon they said that there was a bolt loose and everything was ready to be picked up. So we picked up the car Monday afternoon to find out that the problem is now back on the right side. I have a long list of concerns for example, the safety of my two young children and the rest of my family, did they even test drive the vehicle after they "fixed" it, why did they make me pay an outrageous amount for something that may have been misdiagnosed and the list can be a lot more lengthy. My concern of something being misdiagnosed comes right after I had a problem with my breaks that I paid $600 for on Sunday, August 4, which was the same day they quoted us on the struts. That Sunday I had my car left overnight because my new brakes were grinding. This problem has still not been resolved and we hope it will be soon so I will be commenting on this post based on our upcoming experience and/ or resolution of the problem. Update: I just wanted to extend my gratitude regarding my stressful situation with my car. I appreciate the great service recovery you all provided to make me feel safe in the car and ultimately resolve the problem. Thank you for the refund check of $500, the 15% discount cards and the fixing of the source of the problem at no charge. I appreciate everyone listening to my lengthy concerns. I wanted to personally extend a thank you to Keith who met with us and followed up with the problem himself along with delivering the news the following day regarding the car and what you all did for me. Thank you to not only Keith but Jordan and Vince who kindly explained the situation step by step and assured me that we are headed in the right direction. Jordan made sure we had a rent a car set up for us the day we dropped off the car and everyone did an amazing job of turning a negative situation into such a positive outcome. I wanted to also thank Maile and Tiahna for helping all the previous times I dropped the car off and for helping as much as they could. Words cannot express my gratitude and relief of stress from all the concerns about safety to money to how time consuming everything became.
