When I brought my car in for safety check and oil change, I showed them my insurance card. The intake person insisted that was only a copy of insurance card and not original and mentioned that w could we could also obtain an image on our phone showing active insurance before they could perform safety check. Since our residence was not far from the Queens shop, we went home to look for the original card but could not find any. So we downloaded the insurance program on our cell phone showing an image of active insurance, we went back to the shop to show the crew at the shop who could now proceed with safety check and they said they would take a picture of the image when we would pick up the car. When we picked up the car later, we showed the image on the phone and showed the card again. The supervisor told us that card which we presented earlier was actually the original insurace card and not a copy, so there was no need for the image on the phone. This caused us an extra trip to the shop to show the crew the phone image. We would suggest that the intake crew be re-trained to distinguish the original copy and a print out copy of the insurance card to avoid future confusion on denying valid insurance cards. As a loyal customer, we hope this is an area that can be improved. Thank you.
