Per the City&County of Honolulu I have an official Reconstruction Permit with every single item listed on my vehicle. The day I passed, I went straight to The Lex Brodies and the Manager tells me "we do not inspect that type of car". So I ask "what type is that?" I just got my Reconstruction Permit!!! Please explain to me and others what is your definition of "type of car". Why does Lex Brodie discriminate?
Aloha Mr. John B, “Thank You… Very Much” for your feedback. May we ask for some more information so we can look into your concern for you? Please send multiple pictures of your vehicle, along with the safety inspection you had done elsewhere so we can share with our team as well as the Safety Inspection office to address your question. Please email to [email protected] . Please note: After speaking with our team, the had concerns with a couple items and they mentioned that after they heard how loud your vehicle exhaust sounds were, and that it was a like a “show car”, they were concerned whether we would be able to pass the inspection. It is possible, that vehicles may get a recon where an item may have been missed or there may have been modifications after the inspection. As an inspection station, we need to use our experience and caution when we come across unusual vehicles for inspection. We apologize for the frustration from this visit. And, we would like to explore and learn from the visit as well (Get the feedback from the Safety Inspection Office on how to best handle in the future – especially for the loud exhaust sound – our team described it as “Shaking our shop it was so loud”). “Thank You… Very Much!” for your patience and time to share the additional information. When it’s shared, we’ll review with our VP of mechanical and Operation, along with our Company President. And we will send the Safety Inspection office for their feedback. Thank You… very Much!” for your patience and understanding.
